Help Us Beta Test A Christmas Carol VR 2024
We’re excited to invite you to help us shape this year’s production of A Christmas Carol VR! For the first time ever, the entire experience will be fully accessible using nothing but a Meta Quest device. As always, we’re using Unreal Engine and MetaHumans to deliver an immersive, high-quality experience. While we recommend the Meta Quest 3 for the best performance, we’re working hard to optimize the app for older devices as well.
Why We Need Your Help: This year, we’re testing an exciting new platform that enables low-latency, full-body motion capture, processed entirely through Unreal Engine. In previous years, we used external systems to handle this, but now everything is being built within Unreal, and we’re aiming for top-tier performance and reliability. Your participation will help us stress-test and refine the platform to ensure the best possible experience.
How You Can Participate:
Download the App: You can join the beta by downloading the app directly from Meta’s App Lab. Get it here!
Join the Discussion: Once you have the app, head over to the XR Live Discord and join our dedicated Christmas Carol VR channel. We’ll announce upcoming playtest sessions there.
Get Involved: When playtest sessions are live, you’ll have the chance to explore the virtual world and interact with our latest updates. Please note that outside of scheduled sessions, the app may be inactive – but we’re adding more content soon to make the space fun to explore anytime!
